It is  nourished to the core in a tallow bath (a mixture of paraffin beef fat), more commonly known as " tallow leather tallow This fat bath nourishment makes it easy to cut and work with, as well as providing greater water resistance. Tallow makes the leather maintenance-free, as the fat is constantly released onto the surface of the leather, providing it with the necessary nourishment and an excellent patina. Thanks to this nourishment, saddlery leather has advanced resistance to outdoor use and will repel any external disturbances (water/saline environment). Boyoma chocolate half-back care tips :

Thanks to tallow bath feeding, the fat is impregnated throughout the entire thickness of the Boyoma half-back saddle leather, so there's no need to feed over time. Food can be added to the grain to maintain its greasy appearance or accelerate the leather's patina. This care of the grain ensures a longer life. Our Boyoma saddle leather will resist humidity. Simply leave to dry at room temperature to restore its appearance. Because it is fed in a tallow bath (grease), temperature shocks can cause a whitish film of paraffin to form. Simply rub it off.
