Thomas Eyck
Locatedin Oosternijkerk, the Netherlands, Mr Thomas Eyck publishes and distributes distinctive and exclusive contemporary design products. It values the care and love it puts into choosing the materials it works with, its producers and production techniques, and the skill and creativity of its designers, notably Mr Dick Van Hoff for the collection pictured here.
Mr Thomas Eyck chooses the designers he works with, and this varies with each occasion. When he has a piece in hand, he's not interested in its style, but in its quality; he wants to make the most of the craftsman's skills. The key to his success lies in the craftmanship of choice. For Mr Thomas Eyck, it's all the people involved in the creation process who give value to their work: Above all, there's a story.
"We chose this leather for its quality and thickness, as well as its beautiful dark brown hue. Combined with the elm wood frame of the chair or the matte black metal for the firewood holder, and the metal of the breakfast set, it achieves a very luxurious look."

De Stoffeerder

De Stoffeerder maintains traditions: a team of 10 skilled people, each with his or her own specialty. The works produced are 100% handcrafted, everything made from A to Z in their own workshop. This craftmanship goes hand in hand with modernity, as 2 numerically-controlled machines enable the company to process larger orders quickly and with perfect precision.
"We hadn't yet used Pykara leather in our work, for example, to cover furniture originally upholstered in saddlery leather. Of course, the choice of leather is up to the customer. The owner of this set of bar stools chose Pykara leather: it has a beautiful finish and a soft feel. For us, every detail counts: you can see that even for the edge, we use the same finish in the same shade to give a smooth, detailed look. The leather is simply perfect in your hands, but also on the digital cutting table. It's quite stretchy, but also holds its shape. These qualities enabled us to use Pykara leather to cover his entire leather dressing room. The customer chose this type of leather, appreciating its noble appearance and soft structure."
